The Iroquois Gentleman is the official drink of the 69th Iroquois Steeplechase
Jack Daniel’s Distillery has created a signature cocktail for the 69th annual Iroquois Steeplechase horse racing event. The races take place on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Percy Warner Park in Nashville. Lipman Brothers is teaming up with Brown-Forman to underwrite wine and spirits for the event. Several other Lipman brands are also represented.
“Jack Daniel’s and the Iroquois Steeplechase have a long and celebrated history in Tennessee,” said Jeff Arnett, Jack Daniel's Master Distiller in the news release. “We could not be prouder to offer this signature cocktail for the race fans, and we're certainly honored to once again lend our support to one of the country's premier steeplechase events held right here in our own home state.”
The cocktail is a mixture of Gentleman Jack, Chambord, lemonade, and lemon-lime soda for a fruity, refreshing taste. The recipe is as follows:
The Iroquois Gentleman
1 ½ oz. Gentleman Jack
½ oz. Chambord
3 ½ oz. lemonade
1 ½ oz. lemon-lime soda
Shake Gentleman Jack, Chambord and lemonade in an ice-filled shaker. Strain into a glass, with or without ice. Add the lemon-lime soda. Garnish with a lemon twist.
